Apple is expected to launch the upgraded version of Apple AirPods in the first quarter of 2020 along with wireless charging case.
A Trusted Apple analyst Ming-Chi-Kuo has predicted that Apple is going to launch the next generation of AirPods which could feature more advanced features than the current AirPods. According to Ming-Chi-Kuo, Apple’s most sold accesories is AirPods and he thinks that people prefer to purchase new AirPods instead of iPhones and so he suggests that the company could be working on the AirPods Generation 2.
He also predicts that the number of AirPods users will increase by 2020 as more and more consumers are preferring it. The Apple AirPods will go from current 16 million units to 100 million units by 2020.
Now just like original AirPods charging case, this time as well the new AirPods will have a charging case but with advanced features. Kuo suggests that the new charging case will come with a “rigid-flex board” which will be more expensive and may charge the buds fast. The new charging case will also have some design changes and is expected to come with a revamped look. All this will make the upcoming AirPods Generation 2 expensive and premium.
Other than this, Ming-Chi-Kuo doesn’t suggest much on the upcoming AirPods but if we refer to previous rumours, it is expected that the new AirPods will have more features such as Hey Siri functionality, powerful Bluetooth connectivity and more durability rating. But for now, all we know is that it will be a completely redesigned pair of earbuds with more features and a hefty price.
