Asus has unveiled the new ROG Phone 2 at an event in India. The new flagship Gaming smartphone from the company is beast in terms of specs, it rocks a 120Hz display, Snapdragon 855+ SoC and whopping 6,000mAh battery. Let’s take a look at all the details.

The all-new Asus ROG Phone 2 sports a 6.59-inch full-HD+(2340×1080 pixels) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen has a regular aspect ratio as seen in the previous ROG Phone, meaning that there isn’t any fancy notch or full-screen tech here. The display has a sampling rate of 240Hz with a touch latency of 49ms. It has a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection which is said to survive drops and scratches.
In terms of cameras, the ROG Phone 2 features a dual-camera setup at the rear consisting of a 48-megapixel primary sensor accompanied by another 13-megapixel wide-angle lens. At the front, the phone has a 24-megapixel camera for selfies.
Being a Gaming smartphone it must power the best chipset period. Well, the Asus ROG Phone 2 has that too, it is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC coupled with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 512GB of UFS 3.0 internal memory.
One of the highlighting features of the ROG Phone 2 is its battery, it houses a whopping 6,000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 support. The company claims non-stop gaming for several hours. The smartphone runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box and Asus’s custom gaming UI on top of it. The smartphone is upgradable to Android 10, once the company rolls out the new software.
Other than this, the device comes with dual front-firing speakers with DTS: X Ultra support offering clear and loud sound signature.
It also comes with some additional accessories which can be purchased separately. The company showcased the new Air Trigger 2, ROG Kunai Gamepad, and Aero Active Coolerpad.
Asus ROG Phone 2 Pricing and Availability
The ROG Phone 2 gaming smartphone starts at ₹37,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, ₹59,999 for the top variant with 12GB of RAM and 512GB storage. It will be available for purchase from September 30 via Flipkart.
