Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi 7 smartphone in China as the successor to the Redmi 6 that launched last year. The all-new Redmi 7 smartphone comes with impressive specifications and features and comes in the budget segment.
The Redmi 7 comes with a 6.26-inch HD+(720×1520) display with 19:9 aspect ratio screen. One of the highlighting features here is that it comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection which is the same protection on the Redmi Note 7 Pro that launched a couple of weeks back in the country.
It is powered by a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC paired with 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB RAM options to choose from. The internal storage goes up to 64GB which is expandable via MicroSD card.
The device comes with a dual camera setup at the rear consisting 12-megapixel+2-megapixel sensor. The 2-megapixel sensor is the depth sensor which will provide bokeh shots. There is an 8-megapixel sensor at the front for selfies.
In terms of security, the smartphone comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and it also has a software-based FaceUnlock feature.
The Redmi 7 runs on Android 9 Pie and MIUI 10 on top of it. It houses a 4,000mAh battery without any fast charging support.
It comes in three colour options, Charm Night, Dream Blue, and Bright Black.
The Redmi 7 starts at CNY 699(approx. Rs. 7,100) for the base 2GB/16GB variant, CNY 799(approx. Rs. 8200) for the 3GB/32GB variant, and CNY999( approx. Rs. 10,200) for maxed out 4GB/64GB variant.
The device will be available for purchase starting in China starting March 26 at 10 am China Time. However, there is no word on the India launch of the device but we are pretty much sure the launch will be soon and we can expect it in a couple of weeks.
