Just after the launch of the Redmi 8A smartphone in India, the company has now unveiled its elder brother Redmi 8 smartphone in the country. The all-new smartphone comes with a whopping 5,000mAh battery and attractive colour variants. Let’s take a look at all the details.

The new Redmi 8 smartphone comes with a 6.22-inch HD+ IPS panel. It has an LCD display with a notch at the top of the screen. It also has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It sports dual rear cameras consisting of a 12-megapixel Sony IMX 363 sensor with an aperture of F/1.8. For starters, this is the same sensor found on the Xiaomi Poco F1 flagship smartphone. There’s another 2-megapixel lens on the smartphone fro depth-sensing. The phone has better cameras and modes than its predecessor Redmi 7. At the front, the smartphone has an 8-megapixel sensor for selfies.
Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC bundled with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. It also houses a massive 5,000mAH battery with 18W Fast Charge support. It runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box and has MIUI on top of it.
It also has a fingerprint scanner at the rear beneath the camera lenses. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
Moving to the pricing, the Redmi 8 smartphone starts at ₹7,999 for 3GB/32GB, ₹8,999 for 4GB/64GB. It will go on sale starting October 12 in the country.
