Japanese tech giant Sony has launched a new mid-range smartphone in their home country Japan. The new Sony Xperia 8 smartphone comes with a beautiful 21:9 aspect ratio screen and dual cameras. The smartphone also comes in multiple finishes that look classy.

The smartphone sports a 6-inch full-HD+ display with Sony’s standard 21:9 aspect ratio. It also has the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection which is claimed to survive several drops and scratches.
It features dual rear cameras consisting of a 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and there’s another 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with f//2.4 aperture. There’s an LED flash at the top of the lenses. At the front, it has an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.0.
What powers the device is Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. The battery here is a disappointment as it just houses a 2,760mAh battery. It is backed up by an 18W fast charging support. The device runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box and is upgradable to Android 10 once it’s out for the device.
Some classic Sony features such as NFC support and LED notification light is still there. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The smartphone also has an IP rating that ensures waterproofing and dust-proofing.
Sony Xperia 8 smartphone comes in Black, Blue, Orange, and White colour variants. It is priced at JPY 54,000(roughly $504 or ₹35,000) and will go on sale soon in the country.
