The Latest Youtube Update Brings Back 1080p Mobile Video Streaming In India

In the COVID-19 pandemic, there are a lot of unpleasant things that happened to the tech industry. One of the terrible things was Youtube India limiting 480p videos on smartphones. Well, it was done to limit internet usage so that there won’t be excess traffic and slow internet speeds in the country. Now, Youtube has finally re-enabled 1080p video streaming in India.

The latest update for the Youtube app on Android and iOS lets users watch videos in full resolution. It was essential as many users were complaining about watching 480p videos in 2020. With that said, the FHD streaming is enabled but only on the Wifi network.

Users reported that the application lets you watch videos in 1080p only if you are on Wifi. Those who watch videos on Mobile data are still limited to 480p videos. There are no bits on when the 1080p setting will be re-enabled on Mobile data, but we expect Youtube India to do something soon.
