Whatsapp Fingerprint Lock Feature Rolled Out For Android Users

Whatsapp was planning to bring a couple of new features to the application such as the Dark mode and Fingerprint implementation. Both the features were most requested and were in the beta stage of the app, now finally the company has rolled the Fingerprint authentication feature to the Android devices.

The feature was first rolled out for the iOS users and now it finally here for the Android part of the world. The feature has been added for extra security and can be turned on from settings.

To turn on the feature users must follow these simple steps:-

  1. Update to the latest version
  2. Open the Whatsapp application
  3. Head over to the Settings tab
  4. Click on the Account tab
  5. Click on the Privacy tab
  6. Find ‘Fingerprint Lock’ and enable it.

There are also a couple of settings in the ‘Fingerprint lock’ tab where users can set lock timer and content settings.

Other than this, WhatsApp is soon expected to bring the much-awaited Dark mode and some other features to the application. Once more details are out we’ll be the first one to notify you on the same.
