Xiaomi has unveiled the much anticipated Mi Band 4 in China. The smart band is a successor of the last year’s Mi Band 3 with a couple of changes and improvements. One of the highlighting features of the band is it’s 20 days battery life even after rocking a colour display. Let’s take a look at all the details.
The all-new smart band from Xiaomi sports a 0.95-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 120×240 pixels. This is better than the much controversial Mi Band 3’s 0.78-inch screen. Not just that, now the Mi Band 4 also packs a colour screen instead of the standard colour gamut.
It also comes powered by in-built voice commands through which you can perform certain tasks. Xiaomi showed a few demos at the event that looked astonishing. The display also supports touch inputs throughout the screen.
Being a fitness band it comes with a six-axis accelerometer for monitoring steps and other physical activities. There are 77 watch faces in the new Mi Band 4 and also comes with six sports modes. Now the smart band can track different exercises, swimming, cycling, running, breaststroke and some other activities. It is also claimed to have better accuracy than it’s predecessor.
One of the major highlights of the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 is its payment mode. The band can get your transactions done with just a scannable QR code. This is great for China but if the band comes to India with such a feature people might hesitate to use it considering the previous privacy history from Xiaomi.
Other than this, the smart band can do other regular tasks such as music control, call notifications, showing messages, finding the phone, activity data etc. It is claimed to have a 20 days battery life even though it sports a colour display. There is also an NFC support in the higher variant of the band.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 4 starts at CNY 169(converted Rs. 1,697) for the non-NFC variant and CNY 229(converted Rs. 2,300) for the NFC variant. Xiaomi also launched another Avengers limited edition series which comes with Marvel Avengers watch faces, different band options, and a surprise Avengers package. It starts at CNY 349(converted Rs. 3,505). It will go on sale starting June 16 in China. The global launch dates are yet to be known.
