Ever since Qualcomm has announced it’s Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, smartphone manufacturers seem to rush up for updating their smartphones. First, we saw Asus doing it with its upcoming ROG Phone 2, then Nubia announced that it will be launching the Red Magic 3 again with the new SoC, and now Xioami is in the news with its Black Shark smartphone. Though the company hasn’t confirmed the presence of Snapdragon 855 Plus, still it’s pretty easy to speculate. The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro is also expected to come with some other improvements. Let’s take a look at all the details.
Xiaomi on Weibo revealed a teaser poster for the Black Shark 2 Pro, it reveals the launch date and a few details. The launch event of the gaming phone is scheduled for July 30 in its home town China. The smartphone will also come with dual cameras similar to the current Black Shark 2. Being a ‘Pro’ model, the gaming smartphone is expected to come with some ‘Pro’ features besides the chipset. We expect 60fps gaming and customizable refresh rate similar to the Asus ROG Phone 2.
Now about the chipset, as said earlier it will be powered by the new Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC that basically has a faster GPU and is overclocked to 2.96GHz instead of 2.86GHz which is the clock speed of vanilla Snapdragon 855. So overall there will be a 4-5% performance increase in the Black Shark 2 Pro.
